Speech Compression

Speech compression reduces the size of digitally captured speech. Cell phones and MP3 players use compression to minimize

the size of speech and music. Fonix VoiceCompress is optimized for compressing speech signals for applications requiring large

amounts of recorded speech with minimal memory and CPU resources.

 

VoiceCompress is built on two speech compression technologies: Linear Predictive Coding (LPC) and Code Excited Linear

Prediction (CELP). Both are implemented with proprietary algorithms that maximize the speech quality while minimizing memory

and CPU requirements. Fonix VoiceCompress provides a low-cost solution for the smallest embedded products to large server

installations requiring large amounts of stored recorded data.
